
Dr. Thrasher is a licensed clinical psychologist with over two decades of diverse experience in both civilian and military settings. He earned his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Fielding Graduate University in Santa Barbara, California. During his academic training, he was awarded the F. Edward Hebert Armed Forces Health Professions Scholarship (HPSP) and commissioned in the U.S. Army. He completed his internship and residency at Eisenhower Army Medical Center in Augusta, GA that included rotations in Military Psychology at Ft. Campbell, Kentucky, Health Psychology, and the Traumatic Brain Injury Evaluation and Recovery Program. He also completed specialized training and certification to perform aeromedical psychological assessments.
He served as the 3/10 Brigade (BDE) Psychologist for the U.S. Army at Ft. Polk providing behavioral health assessments and treatment in garrison and austere environments. His responsibilities included consultation to commanders (command directed evaluations, chapter evaluations, deployment readiness, etc.), security clearance assessments, and assisted JAG with competency evaluations and Line of Duty exams. He deployed to Afghanistan (2015-2016) and provided primary behavioral health coverage for 3/10 BDE and other embedded units that included battlefield circulation (outside the wire) and support of outlying FOB/COPs with critical psychological services.
Dr. Thrasher is the founder and clinical director of Behavioral Health Clinic LLC in Bossier City, Louisiana. He specializes in evidence-based trauma treatment to include training in prolonged exposure therapy (PE) from the Center for Deployment Psychology in Bethesda, Maryland. He provides adult and pediatric psychiatric assessments to include ADHD, diagnostic clarification, and pre-surgical bariatric and spinal cord stimulator evaluations. He is contracted to provide psychiatric clearance applications for Military Entrance Processing Stations (MEPS). His forensic psychology expertise includes court-appointed evaluations for Competency to Proceed and Sanity at the Time of Offense, with 100+ evaluations completed across numerous parishes in Louisiana, including Bossier, DeSoto, Webster, and others.
